Welcome to this Proficiency-Based-Progression (PBP) online learning course. This course is founded upon objectively defined metrics. These metrics outline the steps, errors and critical errors for the Safety Huddle. Achieving the proficiency benchmark in the assessment at the end of this course is mandatory for those seeking to progress to the in-person training in Cork University Hospital.
You are required to proceed through this course in a linear fashion: step by step. As you conclude each ‘lesson’, be that a video or text content, a mark complete button will appear. When you select this button the option to proceed to the next lesson will appear.
Course content marked as optional is not required for the completion of the course and the achievement of the proficiency benchmark. It is supplementary information only.
The assessment will be in the form of a Multiple Choice Quiz. The MCQ will be based on the core PBP curriculum: the steps, errors and critical errors of the Safety Huddle.
All questions will be randomised and presented out of the sequence with the Huddle metrics. Some questions will feature videos that must be viewed before you answer the question.
You can attempt the assessment multiple times. You must achieve the proficiency benchmark before completing the online course. You cannot proceed to in-person training in Cork University Hospital until you achieve the benchmark.
You select the PBP Assessment option when ready in order to commence the MCQ. You must answer all questions. When you provide an answer you select Check to receive feedback to enable your deliberate practice. You can then proceed to the next question. if you exit the assessment before it is complete, you will return to the beginning to start again
